Q - Are bills included?

A - We provide free WiFi with a speed of up to 50 mbps. You will be responsible for your water, electric and council tax bills in addition to your rent.

Q - How much is parking?

A – An allocated parking space in the under croft car park is £75 per month.

Q - Do we accept pets?

A - Yes, you can have up to 2 pets in your apartment at a cost of £20 per month.

Q - Can I book an apartment for the next academic year?

A – We have a limited number of apartments for students. We can, subject to availability, accommodate bookings up to two months in advance of your move in date. If you need to move in later please contact a member of the lettings team who will add you onto a waitlist.

Q - Are there any application fees?

A - No, we do not charge application fees for tenancies with individuals, fees may be applied for corporate tenancies. We will ask for a £100 reservation fee which is deducted from your first month's rent upon successful completion of the referencing process.

Q - What length is the tenancy?

A - Our standard tenancies are for 12 months. However, we can offer flexible terms upon request and subject to negotiation.

Q – How does the Zero Deposit scheme work?

A –Instead of paying a deposit, you agree to pay for any damages to the apartment or outstanding rent at the end of your tenancy. The zero deposits scheme with Flatfair is available to everyone subject to meeting the referencing criteria. You sign a contract with Flatfair which costs £48 and when it’s time to go, end of tenancy charges are handled quickly and fairly. The standard fee is one weeks rent but Merlin Wharf will subsidise this. For further information on Flatfair please see their website www.flatfair.co.uk

Q – If I don’t want to sign up to the zero deposit scheme, how much deposit to do I have to pay?

A – You can pay a deposit equivalent to one month’s rent. This will be registered with MyDeposits, a government deposit scheme.

Q – Are the apartments furnished or unfurnished?

A – We have both furnished and unfurnished apartments. If you require an unfurnished apartment please select one of the floor plans which is labelled unfurnished when reserving an apartment. Our furnished apartments come with beds, sofa, dining table, dining chairs, media table, please note TVs, bed linen and culinary utensils are not supplied.

Q – What kind of apartments are there to choose from?

A – All the apartments have an open plan kitchen reception room with Elka hard flooring in the living area and bedrooms. The one bedroom apartments have one bathroom and the two bedroom apartments have an en suite shower room plus a separate bathroom. All types of units have been installed with two styles of kitchen, subject to availability, a “Classic” black and white kitchen or the “Greystoke” with a contemporary finish.
